Deals that make financial sense for first time buyers

The company’s popular £400m Government-backed ‘HomeBuy First-time Buyer Initiative’ (FTBi), designed to counter the problem of larger deposits now being requested by many mortgage lenders – is seen as a welcome alternative to renting.
Since it launched last September, demand to buy homes under the HomeBuy initiative has been three times the amount expected, Housing Minister Margaret Beckett recently revealed.
The scheme helps first-time purchasers with a household income of less than £60,000 afford the home they desire by offering an interest free loan for up to 50% of the value of the property.
For buyers at The Bridge, this makes one-bedroom ‘Chelsea’ apartments available from just £77,498* – a fabulous first-time purchase featuring a spacious living/dining room, an open-plan kitchen, a double bedroom and a well-proportioned bathroom. Outside there is allocated parking for each home, while selected apartments benefit from terraces or balconies.
Two-bedroom apartments start at £84,998* under the HomeBuy FTBi scheme.
George Wimpey’s Regional Sales and Marketing Director, Mark Pajak, explained: “We appreciate that many people are finding it difficult to get a foothold on the property ladder – but there are still many alternatives to renting which make buying a home affordable and a sensible long-term choice.
“This package puts George Wimpey at the forefront of making homes in Dartford affordable for all buyers, whatever their own personal situation.”
Customers who feel they may qualify for the HomeBuy FTBi scheme are urged to find out fast, as homes available through HomeBuy are limited.
