Confidence rises amongst first time buyers

Confidence rises amongst first time buyers A survey recently released by property website Rightmove reveals that the majority of first time buyers are feeling confident and are ready to take their first steps onto the property ladder.

The survey revealed that 69 per cent of people who visited the website feel that prices have dropped as low as they will and that now is a good time to buy a first property. With Crest Nicholson (Eastern) Ltd offering great incentives at its Wellington Place at Market Quarter development in Tonbridge, first time buyers in Kent can now find a home to suit their needs at an affordable price.

Despite first time buyers feeling that now is a good time to buy a home, taking that first step onto the property ladder can still be hard to do. At Wellington Place Crest Nicholson is offering purchasers the chance to own 100% of their home while only paying 75% of the price for the first five years, with its EasyBuy scheme.*

EasyBuy is not a shared ownership scheme and purchasers at Wellington Place will own 100% of their new property from day one. Unlike similar schemes, with Crest Nicholson’s EasyBuy there is absolutely no rent to pay or interest accrued on the outstanding 25% of the property’s equity for the first five years. The deferred amount is paid back at 25% of the property’s open market value at any time up to resale or after 10 years, which ever is sooner. Therefore with EasyBuy, a one bedroom apartment priced at £159,500 and a two bedroom property priced at £200,000 are now just £119,625 and £150,000 respectively.

Annette Cole, Sales and Marketing Director for Crest Nicholson Eastern comments: “With the housing market showing positive movement and Crest Nicholson providing some great incentives on high quality stylish new homes, now is the perfect time for first time buyers to get onto the property ladder. Wellington Place offers highly attractive one, two and three bedroom apartments in a very desirable central location that are ready for first time buyers to move straight into.”

Comprising a range of one, two and three bedroom apartments, Wellington Place is positioned at the heart of the town’s conservation area; consequently, the architecture of the scheme has been carefully designed to blend and compliment the surrounding historical Kentish vernacular and incorporates a range of sought-after features more commonly found in period properties.

In keeping with the surrounding Victorian buildings, internally the apartments are extremely well proportioned; high ceilings and large double glazed sash windows create light, elegant and spacious living areas that reflect older style homes, yet are in tune with modern living. The homes at Wellington Place benefit from fresh modern interiors including the latest fixtures and fittings.

Transport links around Tonbridge are excellent; Tonbridge Mainline Station provides swift and efficient links to London Bridge, London Waterloo East, London Charing Cross and London Cannon Street, with journey times from 44-50 minutes. Alternatively, the nearby A21 provides excellent links to the M25.

Prices at Wellington Place start from £159,500 for a one bedroom apartment, and £200,000 for a two bedroom apartment. For more information or to book an appointment visit crestnicholson.com.
