New homes benefit from Ashford's facelift

New homes benefit from Ashford's facelift Ashford in Kent is a town that’s going through changes – a new-look shopping centre and multi-million pound leisure complex already and a new high speed train service being introduced later this year, which will slash the journey time to London to just 37 minutes.

And change is especially evident in Stanhope, South Ashford, where £150 million is being ploughed into regenerating the residential landscape, including a range of brand new homes to buy for an initial outlay of little more than £90,000.

Selected new homes from Gleeson Homes are now available with 25% of the initial purchase price deferred for 10 years – with no interest or rent to pay on the outstanding balance.

That means buyers only need apply for a 75% mortgage, so should be able to get some of the best interest rate deals around without having to save for a large deposit.

Julie Rayner, sales director for Gleeson Homes, said: “This is a smart choice for homebuyers who haven’t saved for a large deposit but don’t want to miss out on one of these brand new homes. And they have up to 10 years before they need to pay back the outstanding amount, so they can wait until a time that suits them without worrying about any mounting interest.

“It’s a great opportunity for people to get onto the property ladder or for existing home owners to step up to a bigger property without increasing their monthly outgoings in the short term.”

Gleeson’s Vision at Stanhope development features a range of one and two-bedroom apartments and two and three-bedroom homes, with the 75% shared equity deal available on a selection of the houses, while some apartments are offered with 5% deposit paid.

Using shared equity, a two-bedroom ‘Faversham’ terrace normally costing £122,995 can be bought for an initial outlay of just £92,246.25, with the outstanding balance deferred for up to 10 years; while a three-bedroom ‘Bybrook’ can currently be snapped up for a 75% payment of just £104,996.25. Both properties include designated parking, an open plan living / dining area to the rear of the house, fitted kitchen and a ground-floor cloakroom.

Julie adds: “The whole area is undergoing a massive, multi-million pound facelift, which makes this a good time for people to buy while prices are low and there are prospects for further improvement.”

The Vision at Stanhope development is well placed for transport links with the M20 a couple of miles away and Ashford International Station offering trains to London, the south coast and the continent. There’s also easy access to Kent International Airport, Gatwick and Dover ferry port.

Gleeson has a fully furnished show home and show apartment promoting the full range of properties within Vision at Stanhope.
