A new arrival for Herne Bay development

30th June 2009 Print
A new arrival for Herne Bay development With a new baby boy due in nine days, Hannah Perry-French and Ben Cursons were hoping that moving day would go smoothly when they got the keys to their brand new Bryant Homes apartment in Herne Bay, Kent.

Thankfully, everything went to plan and by the time 6lb 9oz Darcy made his appearance the couple had settled well into their two-bedroom 'Lynton' apartment.

"I suppose you could say we cut it a bit fine," said Hannah. "Darcy was due on the 21st of March and we moved in on the 12th, which didn't give us a great deal of time to get everything sorted, but we managed it."

The couple, both aged 21, had each been living with their parents in nearby Broomfield when they discovered Hannah was three months' pregnant and began the search for a new home.

Hannah heard about Bryant Homes' shared equity scheme – through which homeowners pay just 75% of the full listed price for an apartment while the housebuilder provides an interest-free loan on the remaining amount for up to 10 years - and the price, layout and finish of the ‘Lynton’ made it an instant hit.

"It was very important for us to move quickly and the shared equity scheme suited us perfectly," added Hannah. "When the new apartment came up for sale, Moira, the homes consultant, got straight on to us.

"Because she knew my due-date, she made sure the builders and decorators finished on time. She was really helpful and we completed right on schedule and were the first people to move into our block.

“As it happened Darcy was three days overdue - but in the end we didn't need the extra time.

"It's lovely being in our own home as a family - Darcy's even got a wonderful room of his own! The apartment is perfect, although as a plumber, I think Ben misses the chance to get stuck straight into some home improvements!”

The new Bryant homes in Herne Bay enjoy an excellent location close to the town's Blue Flag beaches and within easy reach of the town centre, where shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants can be found.

The town is also a hive of sporting and cultural activity, including an annual arts festival, theatres, a cinema, a boating lake, water sports and cricket, golf, hockey, bowls and football, while a roller skating rink can be found on the pier.

A number of different styles of homes are currently available, including two-bedroom terraced homes from £159,995, three-bedroom semi-detached homes from £184,995 and four-bedroom houses from £249,995.

All new homes at the development enjoy a high standard specification including gas central heating, double glazing and a fitted kitchen with built-in oven, hob and hood.

Herne Bay Railway Station provides regular services to London Victoria, Ramsgate, Broadstairs, Margate, Whitstable, Faversham, Gillingham and Rochester. For those travelling further afield, the development is within easy reach of the Channel Ports and Eurostar services, while the historic city of Canterbury is a 15-minute drive away.

House-hunters interested in making their move can take advantage of a range of incentives which can be tailored to suit the individual circumstances of first-time buyers and those with a property to sell, including deposit, legal fees and stamp duty paid, and the opportunity to part-exchange on selected plots.

To see the showhomes and discover more about Bryant’s range of incentives, visit the Sales Centre, located off Mill Lane, Herne Bay and open seven days a week from 9.30am to 5pm, or log on to bryant.co.uk.
