George Wimpey supports National Playday

Children and their families are invited to enjoy a fun day’s play at The Bridge, George Wimpey’s popular development in Dartford.

Taking place within the new pocket parks at The Bridge from 11am to 3pm on Wednesday 5th August, the event is in support of National Playday, an annual celebration to highlight children’s right to play.

Mark Pajak, Sales and Marketing Director for George Wimpey South East, says: “This year’s National Playday theme is ‘Make Time!’ and if families can do that, then thanks to the family-friendly design of The Bridge development, with 80 acres of pocket parks and green open spaces, we’ve certainly got the space!

“We’re inviting families living throughout the Dartford area to come along and make time to play on August 5th, when we’ll be opening our pocket parks to the wider community as a safe place to play.

“Although we can’t guarantee the weather, even if it’s raining we would still like to see families come along with their toys and games – and their wellies – and enjoy a great day with other children in the fresh air!”

The play day at The Bridge is free to all, and refreshments and squash will be served in the Sales Centre off Marsh Street North in Dartford. Children are encouraged to bring their own toys and games – and suncream and a hat if it’s hot.

The first 100 children coming along will receive a free goody bag to take away.

The Bridge is George Wimpey’s new community development in Dartford, offering a mixture of family homes, alongside and apartments and houses for first-time buyers.

The community’s new Learning Hub opens in September, comprising a 420-place primary school, a nursery and a youth centre specialising in music and the arts.
