Moving on up at White Sand in Camber

Moving on up at White Sand in Camber Susan Hails loved living at White Sand, Camber, by Kent housebuilder Ward Homes, so much that, when she needed more space, she bought another home there!

Having spent many holidays as a child near Camber, Susan decided to buy a holiday home at White Sand three years ago when she fancied a retreat from the hustle and bustle of her home town of Tonbridge. Enjoying reliving fond memories and making many new ones, Susan’s two-bedroom home was initially ideal, but, with more grandchildren enjoying a weekend away, she decided to buy a larger home.

At first, Susan wasn’t convinced she would be able to sell her house. Ward Homes, however, stepped in and offered the perfect solution with its Part Exchange scheme.

Through Part Exchange, Ward Homes buys the purchaser’s existing home, enabling the purchaser to buy a new Ward home. This takes away the worry of being in a chain and they can even stay in their old home until the new one is ready. With no estate agency fees to pay or HIP to prepare, there are savings to be made too.

“I couldn’t believe my luck when Ward Homes explained how they could help me by buying my current home!” said Susan. “I bought a fantastic three-bedroom cottage and they took away all the hassle of selling my previous home.”

Nick Fenton, Managing Director for Ward Homes, says: “Moving home can be a stressful time and the process can sometimes be fraught with difficulties, such as finding a buyer, chains occasionally breaking, high estate agency fees and arranging a HIP. In the current economic conditions, these uncertainties can compound and often discourage people from buying a new home. Through Part Exchange, buyers can relax and move up the property ladder without the worry and cost of selling a property.

“White Sand has proved incredibly popular. In Susan’s case, she was coming here more and more and needed extra space so our Part Exchange scheme enabled her to pass the responsibility for selling her old house to us so she could get on with enjoying her new one.”

Susan continued: “I thought I was going to have to wait a good few years before I could buy something larger at White Sand. I recently retired and having the extra space is great when I am down here relaxing on my own and, even better, when my grandchildren come to visit.”

Susan still has a home in Tonbridge where she spends some of her time. “Travelling between Tonbridge and Camber couldn’t be easier with the A21 linking the two,” continued Susan. “A large part of my life is still in Tonbridge but when I fancy a break to the coast it’s only an hour’s drive - friends and family can pop in at the drop of a hat.”

White Sand is an award-winning, fisherman’s village style development of two, three and four-bedroom homes with architecture that perfectly reflects the seaside atmosphere.

The location is idyllic with Camber Sands, one of the UK’s finest beaches, opposite the development and the historic town of Rye just a few miles away. Many of the houses have stunning uninterrupted views across the open land of the adjacent conservation area.

Prices at White Sand start from £195,000 for a two-bedroom cottage. For more information, contact the Ward Homes Sales Centre at White Sand, Whitesand Drive, Camber, East Sussex, TN31 7UP, open daily from 10am to 6pm, or visit the website at wardhomes.co.uk.
