New homes granted for Iwade
Leading Kent house builder, Ward Homes, has been given planning permission from Swale Borough Council for a residential development of 27 homes.Prospective purchasers are now able to register interest for the development at Town and Village Homes Estate Agents located in the village centre.
The approved scheme will regenerate former farmland, part of which is a derelict farmyard. Building work will start this autumn with the first homes due for completion in December 2009.
All 27 homes will be for private sale and will comprise two and three-bedroom cottages and two, three and four-bedroom houses.
A Grade II Listed barn remains on site which will be refurbished and converted for community use. Ward Homes will also be providing a new car park adjacent to St. Mary’s Church.
Prior to building work commencing, Ward Homes is carrying out ecological works to create a new habitat for the protected newts and other wildlife on the site. They will be moved to an area nearby.
Nick Fenton, Managing Director for Ward Homes, said: “Ward Homes is delighted to have been granted planning permission which will provide much needed homes to the area. This striking scheme is in a convenient location, very close to the village centre and we expect it to be a highly popular place to live. We have worked hard to ensure the new scheme meets the needs and aspirations of the local community.”
Guide prices for the new homes range from £150,000 to £280,000. For more information, visit wardhomes.co.uk.
