Redrow launches new show home in Ashford

Redrow launches new show home in Ashford To celebrate New Homes Week (September 12-20) Redrow is hosting an ‘open doors’ weekend in Ashford, Kent, to show homebuyers the ins and outs of its brand new show home.

Run by the New Homes Marketing Board, New Homes Week is set to highlight all the benefits that come with owning a brand new property, such as energy efficiency, no expensive renovation costs and easy maintenance.

Redrow has taken the theme a step further and calculated that the cost of bringing an older second hand property up to the same standard as a new Redrow home could be as much as £30,000*, not to mention the huge outlay of time and energy involved.

By contrast, in the homes at Redrow @ The Paddocks, everything has already been done for you to a very high standard, with an up to date specification and highly polished finish that is easy to maintain and keep clean. It also carries the added reassurance of a two-year guarantee for any fitted appliances and the National Home-Building Council (NHBC) 10-year ‘Buildmark’ warranty.

Previous research has shown that a brand new home is also up to 40% more efficient than one built at the beginning of the decade, which should also mean lower fuel bills.
And, with recent reports showing consecutive month on month upturns in house prices, now could be just the right time to buy at The Paddocks, where the doors of the new show home – and other available properties - will be opened to homebuyers over the weekend of September 12th and 13th.

Beryl Williams, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Eastern) said: “This weekend will be an opportunity for people thinking about buying a new home to see the first class properties we have available at this stand-out development. It gives them the opportunity to step inside the fully furnished show home and get a real flavour of what it would be like to live here.

“There are so many overriding benefits to owning a brand new home compared to a second hand property and this event gives potential purchasers the opportunity to see that for themselves instead of just taking our word for it.”

A recent survey by Nationwide found that house prices rose for the fourth consecutive month in August, up 1.6% on the previous month, indicating that the window of opportunity to pick up the best buys in popular areas could be closing.

This improving trend has also led the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) to revise its house price predictions for 2009, with its August update now forecasting that prices at the end of the year will be higher than for the same period last year, as opposed to the 10% drop it had previously predicted.**

The new Lambourne show home at The Paddocks features elements of Redrow’s latest specification, including an emphasis on more convivial open plan living and a contemporary new kitchen with floor to ceiling units and top brand name appliances. The new specification is complemented by chic interior design, which features a muted colour palette of cream and brown, with stylish pieces of walnut furniture.

It has been styled with young ‘city slickers’ in mind, which is quite fitting given that a new high speed train service launching in December will offer a 37-minute train service from Ashford to central London.

The Paddocks @ De Montford Park is located off Tithe Barn Lane, Singleton Hill – just a few minutes from the centre of Ashford. The town boasts two shopping centres with many popular high street stores, as well as a designer outlet centre on the outskirts, a popular market, restaurants, pubs and hotels.

Ashford also offers easy access to the M20, connecting to the M26 and M25 and, for those who like to travel further afield, the town enjoys fast links to the continent via the Eurostar at Ashford International station.

Currently there is a range of three and four-bedroom homes to choose from with prices starting at £189,000.

The ‘open house’ event takes place between 10am and 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, September 12th and 13th. For further details log on to redrow.co.uk.
