Kilnhurst kids take a trip to Wharf View

Kilnhurst kids take a trip to Wharf View Primary school children in Kilnhurst have been getting to grips with a real life building site on a visit to Ben Bailey’s Wharf View development in the village.

Two classes from Kilnhurst Primary School were given an in depth tour of the development to learn all about the processes and techniques involved in building new homes.

During the visit, the children were given an insight into the various elements of construction and how houses are built, as well as being given an introduction to health and safety on building sites.

Site managers Steve Baldwin and Carl Hess, and assistant site manager Rob Glaves were only too happy to answer questions and show the young visitors how houses evolve from plans into the finished product.

Marketing assistant Lisa O’Dowd, said: “We are always pleased to be able to show local children around our developments because it gives them a real understanding of what it is that we actually do and how much is involved in building a new home.

“The children are always very excited, and seem to get a lot out of their visit. What always goes down well is when we show them the finished showhomes, and they also seem to enjoy learning about the materials we use and why they are selected.

“These visits give us the chance to talk on a more serious note about the need for safety on and around building sites, and the feedback we have had already suggests that the children from Kilnhurst found the day to be both interesting and fun.”

Wharf View is a development of 198 one bedroom homes, two and three bedroom mews homes, three and four bedroom three-storey townhouses and four and five bedroom detached homes. For further information, visit ben-bailey.co.uk.
