Charles Church Yorkshire: Dreams come true

The charity ball, held at York racecourse last month, is just one of the ways Charles Church has helped to raise funds for Dreams Come True, a national children’s charity of which it has been a major sponsor for four years.
More than 600 contractors and subcontractors of the housebuilder attended the charity ball, which was also attended by Dreams Come True’s CEO, D’Arcy Myers. On the night, guests enjoyed an impressive four course meal, tried their luck in the casino and raffle and danced the night away at the disco. They were also treated to a spectacular performance in They Will Rock You, a touring theatrical production starring tribute artists for Elton John, Dire Staits and Status Quo.
David Smith, Sales Director, says: “We are delighted to be able to make such a generous donation to Dreams Come True, such a worthwhile charity.
“The ball was a great success and everyone was really generous on the night as they knew that their money was going to a great cause. Charles Church hopes that the children do have a trip of a lifetime in Florida and look forward to supporting the charity in the future.”
The group of 14 children, who come from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, visited Disney World between 12th and 22nd March. Formed in 1988, Dreams Come True is a national charity which helps children who have both life threatening and long term degenerative illnesses including Leukemia, Cystic Fibrosis, Cancer and Muscular Dystrophy.
