Barratt Sheffield’s sales director, Steve Price, Church Gate’s sales negotiator, Wendy Spink and the Rev. Peter Needham, get ready to start the fund raising event for the Brierley village church Housebuilder Barratt has helped to boost the campaign to renovate the historic church in the centre of the village of Brierley. Barratt has just started to build its new Church Gate development close to the old church and was delighted to help out at a special fund raising event.

Barratt construction staff cleared up the unkempt churchyard, mowed the grass and carried out minor repairs to make sure the grounds looked their best for the visitors.

The vicar, the Rev. Peter Needham said: “We are very grateful for Barratt’s kind offer. The church is badly in need of repair and we need to raise thousands of pounds to carry out the work. Barratt staff did a fantastic job in sprucing up the churchyard before our fund raising fair. The church is a well-loved centrepiece in the village and has deteriorated seriously in recent years.”

Barratt Sheffield’s Sales Director, Steve Price said: “We are delighted to be able to help. We like to assist with worthwhile projects in the areas where we build and this gave us the ideal opportunity to help the local community.

“Our new Church Gate development in Brierley enjoys a fantastic traditional village setting and with the ancient church as a backdrop. We are building a fantastic selection of new homes here and buyers love the village location. It is essential that we help to preserve classic environments like this wherever possible – and to play our full part in village life.”
