First in get first look at Doncaster show homes

Martin Jubb and his partner Natalie Hemstock, together with Suzanne Sergison, her partner Alex Marland and his son, Harrison, aged six, were the first people to move in to Redrow’s Danum St Giles development, in Scawthorpe – and, to celebrate, they were all invited to officially open the two new show homes.
“It was a big surprise,” said Suzanne. “We’ve never been asked to do anything like that before and we really enjoyed it. Redrow made us feel very special with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and champagne.”
Redrow has opened two fully furnished show homes to promote the development of 165 properties on Amersall Road and each of the two properties is very different.
Suzanne, a finance manager, who’s bought a three-bedroom property with her partner Alex, a fire-fighter, said: “The show homes are absolutely beautiful, really wonderful – I’ve been round them at least three times already stealing ideas for our own home. I keep going back for another look and will probably have dragged Alex round them 10 times before I’m finished!”
“The choice of colours and the way the designers have used a really strong colour of paint or wallpaper on just one wall of a room to create a focal point is really effective.”
Martin Jubb and his partner Natalie Hemstock were also delighted with the opportunity to be ‘VIPs’ for the day. They’ve bought a three-bedroom semi, their first home together, having previously lived with their respective parents.
Said Martin, a project engineer: “We’ve been looking for a place of our own for about three years, but probably only really seriously over the last 12 months. Redrow’s Danum St Giles development is perfect because it’s roughly halfway between both sets of parents who live in Bentley and Cusworth.
“It’s also really handy for both of us for work. I travel all over the country so it’s great to be so close to the A1, A18 and the M1 and it’s also convenient for Natalie, who’s a nurse at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
“We really wanted a new home because of the convenience factor and being able to stamp our own identity on it, without reworking someone else’s interior design. It was quite a surprise to be asked to open the show homes but we were more than happy to take part.”
Redrow’s two show homes are a four-bedroom Neale and a three-bedroom Lambourne, both homes with accommodation arranged over three floors.
The colour scheme of the Neale is mostly gold, creams and naturals with a soft, ‘silent’ orange accent. Redrow’s interior designers, Connection in Design, have imagined a professional couple in their 40s or 50s, with two teenage children. The overall theme is modern classical, but the children’s bedrooms display a passion for fashion and extreme sports.
In the three-bedroom Lambourne the style is modern contemporary with a glamorous twist, featuring an abundance of white, silvers, blue and black. It’s styled to suit a trendy 20 or 30-something couple with no children.
These two new show homes promote a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes, with current prices from £115,995 for a one-bedroom apartment to £236,995 for a four-bedroom detached house – with a great choice of properties in between.
The development is situated just three miles north west of Doncaster city centre, with its wealth of bars, restaurants and shops. Bentley railway station is under half a mile away and regular services run to Doncaster (five mins), Leeds (45 mins) and Sheffield (45 mins) – making it ideally located for commuters.
For further information visit the development, open daily 10am to 5.30pm, and view the two new show homes.
