Keeping it in the family

25 year old Victoria, a recruitment consultant originally from Nottingham, was keen to move back to the area to be closer to her parents, who moved to the development three years ago.
The couple had been living in a three bedroom house in Bolton, but when Tim, 34, was promoted to a nationwide operations manager it enabled them to buy a larger house and be nearer to Victoria’s parents.
Victoria said: “Mum and Dad have always been very happy at Sandmartins, so it was our first port of call.”
After looking round the show homes, the couple reserved one of the Fullwood plots off-plan, and soon afterwards Victoria fell pregnant.
She commented: “It was great timing because we were able to move into our new house in November and baby Daniel was born in May, so we had time to settle in and make one of the bedrooms into a nursery.
“The Fullwood really appealed to us because of the space it offered us for our money. We were also impressed by the quality of the exterior as well as all the finishing touches inside the house such as the tiling in the kitchen and the fittings in the bathroom.
“We were given curtains and carpets for free, which made things very easy for us, especially with a baby on the way.”
Sandmartins is set in the leafy suburb of Berry Hill Park, one of the most prestigious areas of Mansfield.
Victoria commented: “Berry Hill is certainly a very attractive area and it has a lovely feel to it. We’ve got some great neighbours and it’s very quiet here although we are not far away at all from all the shops in Mansfield town centre.
“There are two park areas on the development, which will be great for Daniel when he gets a bit older, and we have a lovely garden, which isn’t overlooked. There are also two very good primary schools in the area - Berry Hill and High Oakham.”
For Tim, who has to travel around the country regularly for his work, the development is also very practical because it provides easy access to the M1.
The couple have only good things to say about the service they received from George Wimpey.
Victoria said: “The sales executives and the site manger have been outstanding. Any queries we’ve had have been dealt with immediately, and we were made to feel very welcome.”
It seems that the Sandmartins really is becoming a family affair for the Parrs; Victoria’s brother has also just bought a new property at the development.
