Laying the groundwork for a successful career

Ryan, who works at the company’s site, Champany Fields, in Dodworth, was one of 11 managers from around the country to achieve the qualification.
Keen footballer and golfer Ryan developed the management skills required to run a Redrow site, in addition to an NVQ level 3 in Construction Site Supervision (Building and Civil Engineering) from the NHBC (National House-Building Council).
Said Ryan, who lives in Horbury: “The programme has given me the skills to meet the company’s standards and the expectations of our customers.
“Customer relations is very important to Redrow and I have been able to use my skills on site ensuring purchasers’ needs are met.”
The course covered all areas of a site manager’s role, including health and safety, construction knowledge and skills, customer service and team management.
Ryan is helping Redrow Homes (Yorkshire) to create a development of three and four-bedroom detached homes at Champany Fields, in Station Road, Dodworth, with current prices from £189,995.
Karen Jones, group human resources director for Redrow, said: “This course is part of our overall commitment to raising the competency of our construction staff above the industry average, in addition to increasing employee retention and job satisfaction.”
