Top marks for Doncaster development

The Doncaster-based housebuilder plans to build 40 homes including a mix of one, two, three and four bedroom properties with the housing provision designed to appeal to a broad mix of budgets and requirements.
The former St Aidan’s School and Nursery is scheduled to be demolished in March 2008 and remediation work is likely to take around six weeks to complete. Persimmon anticipates construction work will commence in Spring.
Persimmon’s investment in developing this once-redundant site is further evidence of the company’s ongoing commitment in breathing new life into areas which have had a former use. In fact, around 83 per cent of all homes Persimmon will build across South Yorkshire this year will be on brownfield land.
Ged Collingwood, land director for Persimmon’s South Yorkshire region is confident the scheme will come as welcome news to local househunters. He comments: “St Aidan’s School and Nursery is disused and as a result, has become dilapidated. With our investment, commitment and vision, we will transform the area into somewhere people want and aspire to live and we can’t wait to get started on site.
“As we continually witness at our Doncaster-based developments, there’s an exceptional demand for high quality homes in this particular area and we are delighted that we are able to respond to the current shortfall.”
Persimmon Homes South Yorkshire is always interested in purchasing land and a site occupying two acres or more and within an easy drive of a local town and amenities can often be suitable.
