Caborn praise for Lower Don office development

Sheffield Central MP Richard Caborn has praised a new development in the Lower Don Valley as helping to draw businesses back to the industrial heartland of the city. Mr Caborn attended the official opening of Hawke Street Business Park, in Brightside, a development that has lifted the area with the transformation of a disused site into 27,000 sq ft of modern riverside office space.

Sheffield Lord Mayor Coun Arthur Dunworth and more than 80 key business figures from across the region also attended the event.

Said Mr Caborn: “This business park is a fantastic addition to the Lower Don Valley area, benefiting from both the history of the region and a fabulous modern setting.

“The Valley has seen a lot of investment in recent years and you only have to look across the road to Sheffield Forgemasters, a company with an international client-list and recognised as world-leading in its sector, to see how this area is thriving, which can only heighten interest in the neighbouring businesses.

“The Lower Don Valley is a very exciting place to be right now and is fast asserting itself as a hub for Sheffield’s newest industries and of course for some of its oldest, maintaining its position as the industrial heartland of Sheffield.”

The business park is situated just minutes from Meadowhall, Sheffield Arena and Don Valley Stadium and is only a short bus or tram ride to the city centre.
