Construction specialist celebrates move into £5.5m offices

South Grove House is of such a high standard that managers at Horbury Group opted to move into the landmark 32,000 sq. ft building, using the opportunity to gather the majority of the group companies under one roof.
Trevor Wragg, managing director of the Horbury Group, said: “This move marks a great step in the development of the Horbury Group and was driven by the growth of the company.
“Horbury Group is only taking a portion of South Grove House, but it allows us to pull the group companies together into a very useable, high specification space. The remainder of the complex will provide managed accommodation and will be shared by numerous, different sized companies using flexible floor plans.
“Our previous offices at North Grove House will also be vacated and that will free up what is some of the finest commercial space available in the country, with superb motorway links and offices fitted out to the best possible specification.”
South Grove House is on the re-claimed site of South Grove School and is one of Rotherham’s most prestigious and striking commercial developments. The Horbury Group has already built three office blocks on the site, coupled with 16 luxury apartments nearby, significantly lifting the economic potential of Moorgate.
Other regional companies involved in the scheme include Sheffield-based architects Race Cottam, designers of the building and commercial property specialists Knight Frank, also from Sheffield, which is acting as agent for the new offices.
South Grove House is finished to the highest standard with dedicated meeting and training rooms, comfort cooling and wireless internet access. Standard specification also includes raised access computer flooring, suspended ceilings, a BREEAM rating of good and a living green roof providing additional insulation and reducing carbon dioxide.
The project has been supported by funding assistance from South Yorkshire’s coveted ERDF Objective One Programme.
The Horbury Group has invested in an additional 28,000 sq. ft building close to the re-claimed South Grove School site, which is earmarked for residential redevelopment.
