Dan Marino touches down in Scotland
Ocean Sky Handling, the Prestwick-based aircraft handling company, welcomed legendary Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino to Scotland last week. Marino was with a VIP party of NFL footballers en route to Turnberry for a golfing holiday. Marino is a Hall of Fame quarterback recognised as one of the greatest and most prolific quarterbacks in American football history.Hall of Fame Coach Sid Gillman said of Marino: "Once in a great, great while, a 10-year-old comes along to play with the Philharmonic Orchestra, and once in a great, great while, a Dan Marino comes along to throw the football. You can't explain why. You just watch in amazement."
Ocean Sky Director of Operations Eddie Allison said: "Dan and his colleagues arrived at Prestwick in the middle of the UEFA cup football traffic on a private Boeing 757 which we were looking after.
"The flight took some very careful handling as it arrived just when all the Spanish fans were flying out on over twenty chartered aircraft. But our operation went like clockwork."
