Aer Arann reinforces French relations
Aer Arann, one of the fastest growing regional airlines, will this week celebrate the launch of their new route between twinned cities Cardiff and Nantes. This is Aer Arann’s fourth route from Cardiff as the airline already operates services to Dublin, Cork and Galway in Ireland. The celebrations will include the first passengers to check-in receiving free flights from Aer Arann.Located on the Loire Estuary, Nantes boasts a rich and varied architectural and cultural heritage and is central to popular tourist destinations such as the Atlantic Coast, Brittany, Anjou and the Vendée. The perfect place to sample local wines and stock up the cellar, Nantes has plenty to offer and as it is set to host the Rugby World Cup this September this route is sure to be a hit with Cardiff rugby fans.
The Cardiff to Nantes service will operate on Saturdays and with a flight time of less than three hours and prices from as little as £49 each way, including tax, is a great service for a week long getaway to this beautiful region of France.
Colin Lewis, Head of Sales at Aer Arann commented:
“Nantes is the sixth largest city in France and the capital of the Pays de Loire region in West France, a remarkable place to visit. It is also Cardiff’s twin city and as the host to two of the Rugby World Cup matches being played by Wales in September 2007 we are excited to be bringing the action one step closer. We are delighted to be providing this new service and believe it will prove popular with passengers from both regions.”
Jon Horne, Cardiff International Airport’s managing director, said:
“Nantes is a particularly appropriate destination, especially this year. This shows how Aer Arann continues to innovate for the South Wales marketplace, with intelligently selected routes offered at low fares.”
