Flight Centre bombards customers with green message

Flight Centre is spreading the message across its network of stores about the partnership with Climate Care and the benefits of offsetting every time they book in store, over the telephone or online.
The company has designed a ticket insert to go into every ticket wallet with information on Climate Care and has a web page linking through from the Flight Centre home page, where customers can use an online calculator to calculate the cost to offset their flight.
Flight Centre is also including branding in the windows of all of its 100 high street stores, plus has a section on carbon offsetting in all new Flight Centre brochures and other marketing collateral.
Chris Galanty, managing director of Flight Centre said: “We feel it’s very important for us to make our customers aware of such initiatives and give them the opportunity to help address climate change, should they wish to do so.
“Our sales consultants also feel very strongly about these issues and have been keen for us to work with an agency such as Climate Care. They will be helping to make this a success and to encourage as many people as possible to offset their flight.”
Climate Care’s managing director, David Wellington said: ‘We’re delighted to be working alongside Flight Centre to offer its customers the opportunity to offset their flights’.
Flight Centre will also be doing regular updates to consultants on how well the initiative is going and new sales consultants will be given a short briefing during their initial induction week about Climate Care.
Flight Centre is also encouraging all staff to offset their work and personal travel.
Climate Care is a service that helps individuals and organisations to repair the damage they do to the climate. Through its award-winning sustainable energy projects Climate Care will reduce pollution (CO2) equal to the amount created – making the activity such as flying climate neutral.
