Timed to perfection
KD avia, the Dynamic Russian based airline operating Boeing 737-aircraft, has announced a winter timetable connecting London Gatwick with twelve major cities in Russia through its hub in Kaliningrad.Operating three flights a week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, the mid-afternoon flights leaves Gatwick at 15:15 local and offers comfortable connect times to the following destinations:
Moscow (Domodedovo), St Petersburg, Rostov on Don, Ufa, Kazan, Volgograd, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Omsk, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod and Astana.
Kd avia's concept of a Russian-European hub at Kaliningrad's International Airport was established earlier this year and now the airport supports a full hub and spoke operation connecting these cities with 14 major European centres.
UK originating passengers clear customs whilst in transit at Kaliningrad and English speaking airline staff are on-hand to facilitate an easy transfer from the inbound London sector onto an outbound Russian Domestic flight. Kd avia are the owners of the airport and unlike the traditional transit airport's of Moscow's Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo, queuing and all necessary transit procedures are kept to a minimum.
Loreta Durell, KD avia's UK Sales Manager, said: "With the influx of wealthy Russian's into the UK, the amount of UK citizens doing business in all parts of Russia is growing dramatically. We are finding that regular travellers to Russia are now booking on our services and avoiding using either of Moscow's airports."
