With much of Europe suffering from a lack of snow last winter, the Austrian Tirol was able to open the majority of its slopes, due to sophisticated snow-making and many high altitude locations, while its 5 glaciers offered year-round skiing, guaranteeing skiers the white stuff.

There are nine ski regions in the immediate vicinity of Innsbruck, 285 kms of piste with 80 cable cars and lifts in areas such as Mutteralm, the Stubaier Gletscher, Schlick 2000 and Axamer Lizum.
