Air One - Environmentally Friendly Airline Of The Year

CFM International, the world’s leading manufacturer of medium-range aircraft engines, has presented Air One with the prestigious “Most environmental-friendly airline 2007” award thus rewarding its choice to invest in low environmental impact engines for its entire fleet of A 320 aircraft. The eco-friendly planes will sport a green Company’s logo reading “Environmentally Friendly”.

AIR ONE is the first airline to fly aircraft equipped with latest-generation, environment-friendly engines.

The new CFM56-5B6/3 engines permit polluting emissions to be cut by 40 percent with respect to the current international standards

Rome, October 5, 2007 - Air One is the first airline in the world to equip its Airbus aircraft with CFM56-5B6/3 engines that significantly reduce the emission of pollutants. The new engine has lower fuel consumption thus carbon dioxide (CO2), and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions will be much reduced. The engines will be installed in the ninety Airbus A320 that are to enter service before the end of 2012, according to the firm order placed by Air One with Airbus. On September 27 Air One took delivery of the ninth of the ordered Airbus A320s, and it was the first to be equipped with the new low-emission engine. The eight Airbus A320s already in the fleet will be modified to ensure equivalent emission levels.
