Here comes the aeroplane
Cheapflights.co.uk, the UK’s leading flight price comparison site, has researched airlines’ offerings to keep kids travelling with parents amused en-route to holiday destinations. The page will soon be joining the series of tips pages at cheapflight.co.uk/travel-tips and covers everything from pushchairs and facilities, to food options for tiny travellers.
Airlines doing their best to have pleased parents on board, include Air France which organises activities at Parisian airports during major holidays, while during school holidays family assistants welcome and accompany families, allowing children priority boarding. When its games, gifts and toys the children are after, most airlines have something on offer – Singapore Airlines has a whopping 91 interactive games, while Lufthansa’s tactile toys include finger puppets, matchbox cars, jigsaws, and card games.
Emirates airlines will make your child feel extra special if travelling on their birthday. With advance notice, a cake will be made and if there is time a Polaroid photo can capture the high-flying birthday kid. Low cost carriers on the other hand, have been found to have very limited child-friendly facilities, so pack plenty of snacks, activity books and gadgets to keep them amused and content during the flight.
Francesca Ecsery, General Manager of Cheapflights.co.uk, comments “Giving parents travelling with children a little more value for money is greatly appreciated, and puts the fun back into flying for young ones. When packing for a flight, it can be useful to know in advance what airlines will and will not have on offer for younger members of the family.”
