Alternative Airlines upgrades its booking capability

Alternative Airlines upgrades its booking capability Alternative Airlines, the fast growing web site which specialises in on-line bookings for lesser known airlines, is upgrading its core booking technology to round-off its first year of successful trading.

The new technology, which lies at the heart of Alternativeairlines.com, will offer more powerful flight availability searches, new payment options, improved data security, integration with even more airline systems, and a more reliable and user-friendly booking process. The new booking engine is provided by Frankfurt-based, Ypsilon.Net AG, a leading provider of Internet Travel Technology.

Alternative Airlines Managing Director, John Pope, said: "2007 has been a great year, but we are very aware of the challenges ahead. To keep growing in a very dynamic market our core booking technology has got to keep pace with the increasing expectations of the on-line customer. In the future, our goal is make every airline in the world available for booking through our web site, including traditional “full service” and low-cost “no frills” carriers.

“Alternative Airlines is not a comparison site that simply refers customers to another site to make their booking. We aim to provide real-time flight availability that can be booked instantly on our website at competitive prices, billed in Pounds Sterling. We believe that Ypsilon is the perfect technology partner to help us to achieve our aim and meet our customers’ expectations."

Sue Stempt of Ypsilon.net AG commented: “We have an established UK office which is working closely with Alternative Airlines to develop their unique approach to the online retailing of airline seats. We are delighted to include this dynamic, young company amongst our growing list of UK customers.”
