Zambian Airways announces new routes

Zambian Airways announces its biggest and best programme of flights yet! From March 30th 2008, Zambian Airways will offer over 10,000 seats a week across our network, flying to international destinations in South Africa, Tanzania and the DRC, and to five major destinations within Zambia.

Highlights of the new schedule include:-

- Livingstone to Johannesburg direct
- Ndola to Dar es Salaam direct services
- Ndola connection to British Airways London flights
- Solwezi to Johannesburg, Lubumbashi, Ndola
- Lusaka to Mfuwe on 737 direct off British Airways

Commenting on the new schedule David Evans, Chief Operating Officer for Zambian Airways said: “We’re delighted to present such a comprehensive schedule for our customers. Not only is Zambian Airways providing more flights and more choice for customers traveling on business, but we are also supporting our local tourism industry with a much greater range of services to leisure customers flying into Zambia from international destinations.

“On the three days a week that British Airways flies to Lusaka, Zambian Airways will provide a convenient connection to Mfuwe in the speed and comfort of our 737 jets. And, in another first, there will be a direct early morning connection from both Livingstone and Ndola to Lusaka to connect to the British Airways flight to London. The overnight stop in Lusaka will be a thing of the past. In the other direction there will also be a direct connection from British Airways to both Livingstone and Ndola.

“We haven’t forgotten our local Zambian leisure customers either. Whether you are looking to do a day trip to Johannesburg from Lusaka or Ndola, Zambian Airways will provide you with conveniently timed flights. And for the more adventurous, a new early morning flight on Friday to Dar es Salaam provides the perfect opportunity to take a weekend break in Zanzibar.

“And last, but by no means least, we are investing in the product we offer all our customers. Both of our 737 jet aircraft will be fully refurbished with leather seats and, from Feb 1st, all catering on board Zambian Airways flights will be free of charge. For those who simply can’t resist spending money, we will be introducing an exciting range of duty free items on board our international flights at very keen prices.
