Delta announces new service to North California coast

Delta Air Lines’ customers looking to take in some world-class fishing or reach Redwood National Park to see some of the tallest and largest trees on Earth will find it more convenient starting June 5 when Delta introduces its first-ever nonstop flights between Salt Lake City and the Arcata-Eureka Airport, located in the heart of beautiful Northern California.

“We look forward to offering our customers the opportunity to visit the stunning coast line of Northern California or to explore the majestic redwood trees in one of America’s greatest national parks,” said Bob Cortelyou, Delta’s senior vice president – Network Planning. “With this new destination, Arcata-Eureka residents will have the ability to travel coast to coast via Delta’s convenient connecting hub in Salt Lake City which offers flights to more than 106 destinations, including 10 international destinations.”

Delta Connection carrier SkyWest will operate the new flights using a 50-seat Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft.

To celebrate the new route, Delta is offering one-way special fares*. Customers should act fast as availability is limited and tickets at these fares must be purchased by February 29, 2008. Fares are available immediately via delta.com. Cargo customers also can book cargo shipments online at the new deltacargo.com.

Customers flying to or from Arcata-Eureka will enjoy service via Delta’s Salt Lake City hub where it offers 336 peak-day departures to 106 destinations in North America. And beginning in June 2008, in cooperation with SkyTeam partner Air France, Delta will launch the first-ever nonstop trans-Atlantic flight offered by any airline from Salt Lake City with daily nonstop service to Paris-Charles DeGaulle Airport.
