Delta Air Lines hits Miami Beach

22nd February 2008 Print
Delta Air Lines hits the beach in Miami this week, bringing its award-winning, in-flight experience to South Beach as the official airline of the 7th Annual Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival, a three-day event that has evolved into one of the foremost food and wine festivals in the country.

From February 22-24, Delta will host the festival’s official Welcome Center, as well as open the SKY360 by Delta South Beach lounge that will offer guests a sampling of the airline’s signature products and services.

Upon entering the Welcome Center, guests will receive their credentials and personal wine glasses at Delta’s check-in counters - complete with a baggage carousel-like conveyer belt. They are then welcome to visit the SKY360 by Delta South Beach lounge, a unique space designed to showcase elements of Delta’s unique in-flight experience.

The lounge will feature Delta’s all-leather comfortable BusinessElite seats - outfitted with Delta on Demand, the airline’s state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system, which offers a wide variety of movies, music and games.

Delta will also offer guests a choice of four refreshing signature cocktails to enjoy in the space as Delta flight attendants, airport customer service and Crown Room Club agents deliver their world-class customer service.

In addition, Delta will provide an exclusive amenity for South Beach Wine & Food Festival guests reflecting the airline’s continued dedication to delivering great customer service: the Delta Suncierge, a concierge for the sun. Delta’s male and female Suncierge representatives will help guests stay cool and sun-protected with a collection of hot weather remedies.

The Delta Suncierge will be outfitted as an air traffic controller, donning a utility belt complete with sunscreen products from Delta’s amenity partner, LATHER, as well as a fan and cooling face mist.

“Delta is proud to once again serve as the official airline of the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival, one of the most renowned wine and culinary festivals in the country,” said Tim Mapes, vice president of Marketing for Delta.

“The new SKY360 by Delta South Beach lounge provides a perfect venue for guests to experience Delta’s world-class onboard offerings and service in a casual, comfortable and stylish atmosphere in one of the world’s hottest travel destinations.”

In keeping with the festival’s theme, Delta’s Master Sommelier, Andrea Robinson, will showcase the wine program she created exclusively for Delta through an array of unique popcorn and wine pairings that she’s designed for the festival.

Robinson has coupled some of her favorite Delta wines with popcorn flavors including salted caramel and roasted garlic parmesan. The SKY360 by Delta South Beach lounge will host the wine-popcorn pairings on Saturday, Feb. 23 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 24 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
