flyglobespan announce first flights for winter

flyglobespan, Scotland’s low cost airline, has put the first three of its winter routes on sale. Hurghada in Egypt, is a new addition to the award winning airline’s programme and will fly once a week from Glasgow Airport from Wednesday 5 November. Prices will start from £119.99*.

The launch of this new destination is in addition to the existing weekly Wednesday Edinburgh – Sharm El Sheikh flight which launched last winter, and has also gone on sale for winter 08, with prices from £119.99*.

Commenting on the Egyptian routes, flyglobespan chairman Tom Dalrymple said, “We are delighted to be launching another direct flight from Scotland to Egypt.

“The success of the Sharm el Sheikh, which began as a winter destination only but proved so popular that it soon became one of our year-round destinations, was definitely a contributing factor in this decision to launch the Glasgow Hurghada flight.

“I am confident that Hurghada, with its sandy beaches, great climate and world class hotels, will be a great success, attracting a mix of families, couples and dive enthusiasts.”

Its culture, history and landscape make it a quite unique holiday experience, and visitor numbers have been growing consistently. With flyglobespan making a welcome addition to the market with new flights to Hurghada, holidaymakers flying from Glasgow now have even more choice."

In addition to the two Egypt routes for winter, the winter flight from Edinburgh to Madeira has also gone on sale. Customers will be able to book a weekly Monday flight with prices as little as £69.99*.
