Aer Arann delivers Dutch tourists to the West

With the new Amsterdam Schiphol route from Galway and Waterford set to commence 1st May, Aer Arann is reporting its first flight from the Amsterdam airport already has 50% of its passengers on the flights originating in Holland.

Head of Sales and Marketing at Aer Arann, Colin Lewis said: “The route from Amsterdam to Galway has experience unprecedented demand in the run up to the routes commencement. The flights start next Thursday, and each flight for the first weekend has almost 50% of its passenger coming from Holland. This is a great achievement considering it is a brand new route, and the first ever route from Amsterdam to the West. This is great news for Galway and further confirms the western region as a popular destination for visitors from Europe”.

Managing Director of Galway Airport, Joe Walsh said “We are thrilled that Aer Arann is having such success with this new route. The strength of their passenger numbers flying to Galway is terrific news for the region and for the industries that are dependent on tourism.”

The Galway to Amsterdam RE3911 service operates on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday respectively. The mid week flights operating Monday, Thursday and Friday will depart at 07.30 arriving in Amsterdam at 10.55. The RE3915 on Sunday will depart Galway at 14.30 arriving 18.00.

Amsterdam to Galway RE3912 flights depart at 11.45 and arrive at 13.15 on Monday, Thursday and Friday respectively. The Sunday service, RE3916, departs Amsterdam at 18.45 arriving in Galway at 20.15.
