Airline offers Mediterranean charters from Norwich

6th May 2008 Print
UK regional airline, Eastern Airways has teamed up with Holiday Options to provide summer charter flights from Norwich International Airport to Croatia and Sardinia.

For a third year, specialist tour operator, Holiday Options, will provide the package holidays as Eastern Airways flies holidaymakers from Norwich to Dubrovnik in Croatia and Alghero in Sardinia.

The weekly Norwich charter flights start from Sunday 4 May 2008 to Dubrovnik and Saturday 10 May to Alghero.

Croatia is on the Adriatic Sea and has been an independent democracy since 1991. Its beautiful coastline has pebbled coves and rocky beaches with forests running from the water’s edge far into the hillsides. Along a thousand miles of shore there are thousands of tiny Croatian islands in the sea with convenient ferries making island hopping a must. Crowds are drawn to the summer concerts at ancient amphitheatres and seafood is very much a speciality in the small fishing ports and coastal resorts with hundreds of species of fish in the local waters.

Located 100 miles off the Italian peninsula, Sardinia is south of Corsica and the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. The island contains many archaeological ruins and has a wide range of fine sandy beaches, but the colour of the deep blue sea off the rocks and turquoise in the shallow waters leaves a lasting impression. Alghero is the tourism capital of northern Sardina with its charming old harbour. For keen scuba divers there are three famous shipwrecks off the south of the island and a holiday in Sardinia is ideal for those who enjoy walking, sailing and windsurfing.

Chris Holliday, Eastern Airways’ chief operating officer, said: “We’re pleased to be working with Holiday Options and providing their customers with summer charter flights to two exciting destinations. We look forward to welcoming on board repeat holidaymakers from Norwich and are sure these destinations will also appeal to those looking for a new and different off-the-beaten-track holiday.”

Holiday Options managing director, Hamish Manson, said: “Our luxury holidays to Croatia and Sardinia proved very popular from Norwich last year and we’re delighted to offer another holiday programme from the region with Eastern Airways providing weekly flights. We have been impressed by the punctuality and standard of in-flight service Eastern Airways has provided for our customers over the last two years – very much in keeping with the quality of the holidays we sell.”
