Cheapflights.co.uk keeps your packing in check

27th May 2008 Print
Ever arrived at the airport and found you’ve forgotten your plane ticket? Or even worse, your passport? Well forget no more as Cheapflights.co.uk’s travel checklist keeps you and your items in check.

It’s happened to all of us at least once. The excitement of going on holiday, the rush to get to the airport, the moment of panic upon discovering you’ve forgotten your passport or left behind your pyjamas. Then the light bulb flashes in your head and you wonder why you didn’t just make a checklist?

Cheapflights.co.uk, the UK’s leading flight price comparison web site, has researched the most forgotten travel items as well as those travellers would most like to leave behind before a holiday. The results turned up some very interesting findings.

On the most commonly forgotten list, the highest contenders include e-tickets, toothbrushes, toothpaste, pyjamas, credit cards, house keys and visas.

And now for the more interesting part of the Cheapflights UK survey, what travellers would enjoy leaving behind. Respondents were offered a range of eight possible items to choose from in response to the question, “What would you most like to leave behind when you go on holiday?” In first place with 28 per cent of the vote, we have debt followed by a tie between your wedding ring and your computer, which both came in at 17 per cent. Additional responses included mobile phones, clothes – apparently the idea of shopping and skinny dipping appeals greatly, popularity – it can become tiring, ebay addictions and last on the list is your swimsuit.

“I’m a very frequent traveller and generally an organised person. But I once forgot to pack my pyjamas and I tell you, there’s nothing worse than arriving to your destination at night and realising you have nothing to sleep in – unless you’re one of those nude sleepers, which I’m not,” says Francesca Ecsery, general manager of Cheapflights.co.uk.

“I have since avoided forgetful situations by using a checklist – trust me it makes a huge difference,” concludes Ecsery.

Cheapflights.co.uk is helping travellers avoid the pain of forgotten items by creating a comprehensive checklist, having even taken care to break it down into categories such as: Essentials, Toiletries, Clothing/Shoes, Electrical, Miscellaneous, and On The Day of Travel. Each category also has a handy tip attached so you’ll always remain one step ahead of the travel game.
