Eastern Airways switches terminals at Birmingham
UK regional airline, Eastern Airways will be switching all its flights at Birmingham International Airport from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 from Wednesday 4 June 2008.As well as permanently switching terminals, the airline, which is Birmingham’s most punctual scheduled airline, will also provide all its passengers with a new dedicated fast track security channel so they can avoid any queues at security search in Terminal 1.
At Terminal 1 Eastern Airways passengers will be able to check-in at desks 50-54 for its high frequency services to Newcastle and the Isle of Man. The airline also has a new sales and customer service desk located opposite the check-in desks.
Roger Hage, Eastern Airways’ ground services manager, said: “Switching to Terminal 1 will benefit all our customers as we can now offer a fast track security channel, enabling 30 minute check-in to boarding times. The new check-in desks are located in a less congested area, which is also conveniently close to the airport’s free Air-Rail Link connecting the terminal to Birmingham International station for rail services to and from the city centre.”
All passengers travelling with Eastern Airways have access to dedicated fast track security channels at Newcastle, as well as Birmingham, and are not charged for hold baggage. After choosing their seat on board, passengers receive a high quality, friendly service with complimentary drinks and snacks, including champagne.
Eastern Airways first started services from Birmingham in 2003 and offers 35 departures a week to Newcastle and the Isle of Man from the Midlands airport.
