Delta inaugurates 9 international flights in 10 days

Delta Air Lines will inaugurate nine international flights in the next 10 days, marking a significant step in its unprecedented global expansion. Delta has added more than 100 international markets to its network since 2005 as part of its transformation into a premier global airline.

* Delta will launch the first-ever nonstop trans-Atlantic service from Salt Lake City with daily flights to Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, as part of its recently implemented joint venture agreement with Air France.
* Delta will strengthen its presence at New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) with six new flights: nonstop to Georgetown, Guyana (June 1); direct to Cape Town, South Africa via Dakar, Senegal (June 3); nonstop to Cairo, Egypt (June 4); nonstop to Malaga, Spain (June 4); nonstop to Amman, Jordan (June 5), and nonstop to Antigua, Antigua and Barbuda (June 12).
* Delta will further expand its trans-Atlantic network from its largest hub at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport with nonstop service to Stockholm, Sweden (June 3).
* In cooperation with joint-venture partner Air France, Delta has added a fourth daily flight between its Atlanta hub and Air France’s Paris hub (June 1).

June’s nine international flight inaugurals are part of Delta’s industry-leading global expansion which this year alone includes nonstop service between Atlanta and Shanghai (March 30); New York-JFK and Tel Aviv (March 10); Atlanta, New York-JFK and Los Angeles* and London-Heathrow (March 29); and recently announced service between Atlanta and Kuwait City, effective Nov. 7**.

Also, on July 17 Delta will become the first U.S. airline to serve three cities in France when it begins nonstop service between Lyon and New York-JFK.
