Air Southwest supports major surf festival

With a packed schedule of pro-surfing and lifesaving competitions, family activities and live music on the beach, the festival is returning to the North Cornish coast for the second year in a row. The event aims to raise money for Surf Relief UK, a charity that provides disabled and disadvantaged children and young people with the experience of surfing.
David Manley, Chair of the Charity and Event Director for The White Stuff Surf Relief Festival said: “With visitors to the event coming from all over the country and many arriving into Newquay Cornwall Airport, we’re delighted that Air Southwest has chosen to support the festival in such a positive and wholehearted way. The success of the festival depends on the generosity and awareness that is driven by our key sponsors and I’m confident this year will be no exception.”
Mike Coombes, Air Southwest’s Deputy Chief Executive, commented: “Our involvement with this year’s White Stuff Surf Relief Festival coincides with one of our busiest summers ever at Newquay Cornwall Airport and a recent major expansion of flights into the region. We’re proud to be associated with this prestigious event and knock-on inbound tourism benefits it brings to the South West.”
Air Southwest is the leading airline at Newquay Cornwall Airport, with flights to and from eight cities in the UK and Ireland, having recently added Glasgow, Newcastle and Cork to its growing Newquay network. The airline also offers ten destinations from Plymouth City Airport.
