Airlines stuff hidden charges into passenger pillows

Airlines stuff hidden charges into passenger pillows Air travellers are finding the cost of a good night’s sleep has never been so high as some budget airlines begin charging for in-flight pillows. With many carriers already making people pay for meals, bottled water and baggage, air passengers are being presented with an ever growing list of extra costs every time they fly.

Now some air travellers, already battered by the credit crunch, are beating the airlines at their own game and upgrading for just £20 at Jetsleeper.com.

Jetsleeper is the latest in-flight invention, designed to give proper support to the head and neck.

“It’s shocking that airlines are starting to charge for pillows,” says Tim Williams, inventor of the Jetsleeper. “But for £20 passengers can effectively upgrade and save money.

“Jetsleepers are air miles ahead of other sleep aids and can be used over and over again, which means no more second-hand airline pillows.”

“JetBlue is the first airline to start charging for pillows, but the way the industry is headed, it won’t be long before others follow suit,” he adds.

Tim, whose invention split the entrepreneurs on the BBC’s Dragon’s Den, developed the Jetsleeper after years of uncomfortable flights.

“Sleeping on the plane can often lead to a stiff neck or embarrassingly, dropping off on the shoulder of the person next to you,” he says. “The Jetsleeper has been designed to give you the maximum comfort so you arrive at your destination in good shape.”

The Jetsleeper, which comes in its own pocket-sized bag, weighs less than a mobile phone and can be used on any airline seat.
