Eastern Airways comes in right on time
Eastern Airways has again been rated the number one punctuality performer at both Birmingham and Newcastle airports. From January to September 2008, the independent UK regional airline was once more the top scheduled airline at Birmingham and Newcastle ahead of notable carriers including flybe, British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa, easyJet and Ryanair. The latest Civil Aviation Authority punctuality figures, analysed by on-line aviation analysts flightontime.info, show that over 94% of Eastern Airways flights from Birmingham and 89% from Newcastle departed within 15 minutes. If passengers experienced any delays they were on average just 4 minutes at Birmingham and 6½ minutes from Newcastle during the nine month period.
Roger Hage, Eastern Airways’ ground services manager, said: “We have consistently been rated Birmingham and Newcastle’s most punctual airline for a number of years and we’re on target to be top for a third year at both airports. Our staff are focused and committed to delivering the highest levels of service possible with on time departures to meet the high expectations of our business travellers.”
Eastern Airways has been operating high frequency services from both airports since 2003. From Birmingham, Eastern Airways flies to Newcastle and the Isle of Man, while from Newcastle the airline serves Southampton, Cardiff, Aberdeen, Birmingham, Isle of Man and Stavanger in Norway.
Dedicated fast track security channels at Birmingham and Newcastle are available to Eastern Airways passengers to help them avoid any potential queues at the security search area. This also enables customers to check-in just 30 minutes before departure.
The airline operates over 800 flights a week from 17 UK and European airports using a fleet of 30 regional aircraft.
