Redrow cements its reputation as a quality housebuilder

North-Wales based developer Redrow Homes is continuing to build on its success with a number of prestigious industry awards for its housing ventures in the region.

Redrow, which has its head office at St David's Park, Ewloe, has won four North Wales Local Authority Building Control (LABC) awards.

Shaun Sumner, construction director for Redrow Homes (North West) and Patsy Aicken, sales director, were among the company representatives who attended the awards ceremony at St David's Park Hotel.

Shaun said: "We are delighted to have won these awards, which recognise outstanding quality and business regulation compliance and they are recognition for all of the team involved in delivering these projects.

"We believe it is important to build a strong working partnership with the local authorities and were please to have been nominated for these awards by representatives of Flintshire and Wrexham Councils."

The awards provide recognition for people engaged in construction projects who have achieved outstanding quality and building regulation compliance.

The scheme highlights the importance of building control in achieving high standards of workmanship, safety, welfare and convenience.

Eligible projects are nominated by the relevant local council's building control surveyors.

Redrow was nominated by Wrexham Council for the category of ‘apartments/other residential' for its Pentre Bach development on Ruthin Road, Wrexham. It was described as an excellent example of local authority building control working in partnership with a major housebuilder.

And Flintshire Council put Redrow forward for the categories of ‘apartments/other residential' and ‘volume housebuilder over 10 units' for its now complete Y Dolydd development in Ewloe.

The judges said: "Site conditions required various specific foundation designs due to the presence of old coal workings. This, in turn, demanded consistent high standards of workmanship and a number of inspections.

"Notices for inspections have always been prompt and the work to be inspected prepared and ready.

"Despite the hectic nature of volume house building this site always gives the impression of being organised and well run."

Finally Redrow also scooped a regional (North Wales) award for volume housebuilder.

The Y Dolydd development is now complete but a collection of two, three and four-bedroom homes are on offer at Pentre Bach, which is situated a mile and half from Wrexham town centre on Ruthin Road.

Two-bedroom apartments are priced from £137,950 while house prices start at £169,950 for a three-bedroom property.
