See the potential: Charles Church in Llanelli

With an extensive regeneration project already penciled in for the next few years and some work already well underway, Llanelli is going to be the place to live in Carmarthenshire. The council is injecting millions of pounds into the regeneration of the town centre and surrounding coastline, and the housebuilder Charles Church has seen the potential it holds and is currently developing a selection of homes and apartments on the outskirts of Llanelli.

Planning permission for a 100,000 sq ft retail and commercial development boasting top department stores and retail shops has been granted, and work on this is due to start early next year and should be complete by 2011. A new transport interchange for buses and taxis will also be integrated into this.

Elsewhere in the town Bridge Street – a conservation area – is being regenerated. The Grade I listed Llanelly House will be pedestrianised and its surroundings will be improved. £6 million of property improvement is also being put into improving the frontage of shops and businesses in the town centre.
