What’s in a name?

14th April 2007 Print
Shakespeare’s famous Romeo and Juliet play that stipulated “What’s in a name?” can been applied to many things; a name of a person, a company name, a new development of striking homes – it’s all relative. A name provides life, an identity, distinction and character. Housebuiler Charles Church recognises the importance of a name and has involved the local primary school in naming its new development in Church Village, Mid Glamorgan– behold ‘Maes-y-Ceffyl’.

Charles Church is soon to start construction on a selection of executive homes in Church Village. Llanitud Faerdref Primary School participated with enthusiasm in the housebuilder’s naming competition, where each pupil took part by creating imaginative and unique names for the new development.

Lauren Johnson proudly won the competition with her chosen name ‘Maes-y-Ceffyl’, which means ‘Field of Horses’. Sales Director, Katherine Faull presented Lauren and her family with theatre tickets.

Access from Church Village could not be easier to the local train station and surrounding roads. In the nearby Trefforest Estate, you can catch a speedy train straight into Pontypridd, Cardiff and beyond. Whilst by car the M4 is just a few minutes away.
