Three cheers for a job well done

Mike, who earned the award for his work at Redrow’s Three Oaks development in Aberdare, and has since been promoted to area construction manager, says: “I’m very proud to receive this award. I can honestly say that it is a way of recognising and acknowledging not only my hard work, but the work and commitment of all the site staff and sub-contractors collectively.”
The Pride in the Job awards were set up in 1980 by the NHBC to reward the UK’s best site managers for building high quality homes and gives buyers a reassurance that they can expect top class homes.
Mike, who was also site manager at Redrow’s Parc Celyn development in Pencoed, and now lives in a house on this development, was one of 400 award-winners picked from over 18,000 site managers nationwide who are automatically registered into the awards for demonstrating consistently good working practices, high quality management skills, and great motivational skills. Living in a house that you built Parc celyn was site manager and bought house.
Mike will now go forward to compete for a Seal of Excellence, which is presented to only 100 site managers. He will learn whether he has been successful at a special lunch on October 12th at Holland House in Cardiff.
Peter Shergold, construction director for Redrow Homes (South Wales) says: “I’m so proud of Mike, for winning such an influential award. He’s actually one of four Redrow winners in South Wales which demonstrates that we hire only the best staff. It is well earned recognition of Mike’s hard work, his ability to do his job to the highest standard and the responsibilities that come with it. ”
Mike, who has worked at Redrow for six years, collected his award for his work at the Three Oaks development of two, three and four-bedroom detached and terrace homes, in Cwmbach, Aberdare.
Redrow Homes (South Wales) is part of Redrow plc, which builds around 5,000 new homes each year in England, Scotland and Wales. As well as the Three Oaks development, the Cardiff based operation also has developments in Swansea, Cardiff, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil, among others.
