Radiographer Gillian Cross and her partner Simon Farrell enjoyed a stress-free moved to a fully furnished and professionally decorated former ‘Malham’ show home at Redrow’s Glyn Coediog development in the village.

It is the first home that the young couple have bought together, and Gillian, 27, says it is perfect for their lifestyle with its flexible living spaces laid out over three floors.

She said: “We loved the layout of the Malham. We use the downstairs as a real family space; with the open-plan kitchen and dining room next to an area with a sofa and a TV. We have a more formal lounge on the first floor, and a third bedroom, which is perfect for when Simon’s daughter Natasha comes to stay with us. On the top floor we have a master bedroom, with an en-suite. All three bedrooms are really good sizes and the house has plenty of space for when we have friends over to stay, but isn’t so big that we rattle around in it when it’s just the two of us.”

Gillian and Simon were also keen to move to a new build property as they had both previously owned second-hand homes that required a lot of renovation work.

“We chose a brand new home as we weren’t keen to spend as much time doing work and decorating it as we have done in the past,” she said. “The icing on the cake was being able to move in with all the furniture included so we didn’t have anything to do. It’s even got a red theme, which is Simon’s favourite colour!”

Location was also a key factor in the pair’s decision to move to Glyn Coediog, close to surrounding towns, but somewhere Gillian can indulge in her hobby of horse riding in the beautiful countryside and car-lover Simon can enjoy leisurely drives.

She added: “We have the best of both worlds here; a quiet village environment but still within easy reach of Llantrisant and Pontypridd, with Cardiff about a 25 minutes drive away. We’ve also got Talbot Green Retail Park just five minutes away.”
