Spring into Gelli Dawel with ‘Mastermove’

Mastermove has already helped thousands of homebuyers avoid the stresses and strains of moving home, and the sales team at Redrow is hoping people will take advantage of the benefits that Mastermove has to offer.
Mastermove allows customers to ‘hold’ a Redrow home for up to four weeks whilst Redrow appoints carefully chosen local estate agents to manage the sale of their existing property. When the purchase is complete, Redrow not only refunds the £50 Mastermove fee, but will also pay up to £2,000 of the agent’s fees.
Debby Pavitt, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales) says: “Although moving home is exciting, it can also be time-consuming and stressful – whether that’s finding a buyer or dealing with all the ‘red-tape’. With Mastermove our sales team does all the hard work, allowing the buyer to move effortlessly into their new home.”
Whilst Redrow takes care of things with Mastermove, homeowners looking to sell their property can also do their bit to maximise their property’s saleability by kick-starting their spring-clean. They can also take a leaf out of the professionals’ book to give their property some ‘show home magic’.
Redrow uses Birmingham based interior design consultancy, Connections in Design, to dress its show homes around the UK and they’ve provided their ‘top tips’ for how existing home owners can increase their chances of a quick sale, thus prompting a move up to a brand new Redrow home.
Dawn Kitchener, managing director for Connections in Design, says: “The main thing to remember when trying to sell a home is that less (really) is more, so de-clutter all rooms – pack away personal clutter, leaving just the best items to dress the house. Make sure cupboards and kitchen units aren’t bursting at the seams as this gives the impression that the house is short of space.
“Cleanliness is vital. If carpets look grubby get them cleaned or, if they are really bad, replace them - even if it’s just with a cheap neutral one. Ideally have cats and dogs out of the house when viewings are taking place and vacuum away any dog hairs! Remove any children’s toys and make sure they are stored in bedrooms neatly. Give the garden a good tidy and remove any overgrown weeds.”
A selection of three and four-bedroom properties are currently on offer at Gelli Dawel, ready for buyers to move into almost straight away, all with single detached garages and en-suite bathrooms. They’re priced from £179,950 and £186,950 respectively.
Gelli Dawel is situated in the borough of Merthyr Tydfil, which is nestled between the rolling Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains. Merthyr Tydfil boasts a wide range of available activities – from rambling through the Taff Fechan Nature Reserve or taking a journey on the Brecon mountain railway to sailing, golf or cycling – to name but a few – as well as having many leisure and community centres.
Surrounded by such natural beauty it would be easy to forget that Cardiff is within easy reach of Merthyr Tydfil, and that the town has many facilities close at hand available to the locals – from high street shops and bustling markets to doctors, dentists, churches and a choice of schools.
A train station is to be found in the town, which operates a direct service to Cardiff, where main Inter-City connections can be made. For those bound for sunnier climes, Cardiff International Airport can be reached in around 45 minutes by car. Gelli Dawel also offers great commuter links with the A465 approximately one mile away, and the A470 half a mile away, giving direct access to Cardiff via the M4.
