Cricketer bowled over by Redrow

Cricketer bowled over by Redrow A cricketer who has just moved into a brand new Redrow home is just batty about the superb service offered by the housebuilder. Glamorgan all-rounder Ryan Watkins and his wife Lisa recently moved into a townhouse at Cae Ffwrnais, in Ebbw Vale, after selling their old property in just four weeks using Redrow’s Mastermove service.

The sports-mad couple were delighted with the stress-free service, which enabled them to reserve their new home while Redrow took care of everything involved with selling their existing property.

Ryan, 24, who made his first class debut for Glamorgan County Cricket Club in 2005, said: “We were so pleased with the process, it was really straight forward. We got everything done in just four weeks; from reserving to moving in.”

Mastermove allows customers to ‘hold’ their dream Redrow home for up to four weeks, while Redrow pursues a targeted action plan; all for a minimal fee that’s refunded when they legally complete on their new home – and Redrow will also pay all of the estate agent’s fees.

And for anyone now selling a property that requires a Home Information Pack there’s even an enhanced Mastermove service that covers the cost of that too.

After moving from an older terrace property in Blackwood, account manager Lisa, 25, is now looking forward to an easy life in her brand new three-storey ‘Lambourne’ townhouse.

She said: “There’s so little work to be done. We had to spend a lot of money doing up our old house but here we have just moved in and unpacked.

“It’s great having three storeys as well. With the master bedroom and ensuite on the top floor, we’ve basically got the whole middle floor, with two further bedrooms and a bathroom, to use when we have friends over to stay. After comparing the prices of a few different houses, we found this one and we just couldn’t turn it down.”

Cae Ffwrnais will eventually consist of 72 new homes, including one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom homes. The development will feature a selection of homes that are ideal for customers from all walks of life – from first time buyers and young couples, to growing families and empty nesters.

Cae Ffwrnais, located on Steelworks Road in Ebbw Vale, is in an area which is undergoing massive regeneration and will eventually be home to a new railway station, with direct links to Cardiff, and a new general hospital.

Lisa added: “The transformation that is happening here was another thing that attracted us to the development. When the train station opens it will be ideal for us as Ryan commutes to Cardiff to train.”

Debby Pavitt, sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales), said: “We’re so pleased everything went so smoothly for Ryan and Lisa.

“Mastermove is a well-established service we offer to customers to make it easier and quicker for them to sell their existing homes and move to their brand new property. We arrange a free valuation, appoint an estate agent, monitor the agent’s progress on a weekly basis and keep the customer regularly updated.”

Properties available at Cae Ffwrnais include a collection of one and two-bedroom apartments and houses and three bedroom homes, currently priced from £102,995 to £180,995. On selected plots Redrow is even offering £500 per calendar month towards the mortgage until 2010 - a great financial cushion for those worried about their monthly finances.

Visitors to Cae Ffwrnais will be bowled over by the stylish fully furnished show homes, open daily between 10am and 5.30pm.
