A ‘quintezential’ collection for summer

Papillon Bleu first launched in February 2007, during London Fashion Week. Established, by partners David Robertson and Vanessa Barker their unique collections of silk kaftans and summer ready wear express a barefoot luxury style, perfect for island living.

For Spring Summer ’08 Papillon Bleu is stocked by more than 120 boutiques and department stores worldwide, from the exclusive Isle de France resort in St Barts, to Printemps in Paris and Biffi in Milan. Papillon Bleu’s, understated glamour is evident in both Caribbean and QUINTeZENTIAL collections, featuring a heady mix of hand painted flowers, candy coloured chiffons, and vibrant prints embellished with sequins and swarovski.

The Autumn/Winter ’08 collection can be viewed at London Fashion Week 10th-13th February 2008 (Stand T8) and debuts a capsule of cocktail party dresses, created in luxurious silks, satins and exclusive chiffon prints, exquisitely hand embellished with jewels, sequins, metallic leather and lace.

Vanessa Barker designer behind the brand says, “These are fun clothes created from the highest quality silks and soft cottons that look great and feel amazing against the skin. With the success of our resort wear, now worn throughout the Mediterranean, creating sexy red carpet party dresses, I felt, was the natural next step for the brand.”

This essence of simplicity and freedom, is inspired by Vanessa’s childhood growing up in Anguilla in the British West Indies, and at the heart of Papillon Bleu is a work ethic for all employees, ensuring high standards of working conditions, health and safety, and fair wages.

In the UK, collections are viewed by appointment at Showroom West 10 in Notting Hill, established by founder of Ghost, Tanya Sarne. Papillon Bleu is also represented throughout France by fashion distributor Robert Dodd of Paris and this prestigious showroom is situated in the heart of the Marais.
