Fine art meets fashion Coming off the heels of London Fashion Week, Laurance Rassin’s silk wovens, cotton, fine wool; cashmere and intarsia knitwear collection of wearable art jet off to Palm Beach Fashion Week. There his collection commands a strikingly bold, unmistakably original colour palette showing next to Escada.

It was Rassin's killer combination of unique designs, the highest quality garments produced in New York City coupled with the huge trend of art and fashion fusion that made giants, Saks Fifth Avenue buy his entire collection before he had even sold one sample. The Saks customer expects a certain quality', Rassin states, 'and I intend to over-exceed expectations.

Rassin’s launch in the UK was at Nolcha’s Fashion Week: London during London Fashion Week where he showed his Fall 08 collection. His colourful catwalk show held at the Crystal Ballroom at The Mayfair Hotel, London produced a host of excitement.

Rassin’s aim and the reason his collection is so covetable is the fusion of fine art and fashion, luxury and demand. The most affluent gather at Palm Beach Fashion Week targeting Rassin’s trend savvy, independent market who places great importance on the luxury of clothing – another ideal platform to showcase the prestige of Laurance Rassin.

In only his second season, and with celebrities and buyers clamouring to wear and stock Rassin, where does this pioneering designer-artist find his inspiration to produce such covetable garments?

“My work merges contemporary expressionistic drawings with modern Picasso-esque surrealism with the colour and vibrancy of Van Gogh”, Rassin says.

Rassin is currently stocked in Saks Fifth Avenue nationwide (USA) and in the exclusive Fashion Enter Boutiques in London.

OpiTex Ltd sponsored Rassin’s launch into the UK at Nolcha Fashion Week: London and will be sponsoring the up coming Palm Beach Fashion Week show at the Ritz Carlton, “We were delighted to be a sponsor of the launch of Nolcha’s London show,” states Ran Machtinger, President and CEO of OptiTex, Ltd. “The level of creativity exhibited was breathtaking, and the featured work of artist Laurance Rassin was an absolute show stopper. His artistic vision is remarkable.”
