30th November 2007 Print
More than sixty per cent of men buy clothes at least once a month - but only a handful would feel embarrassed going out in clothes they bought a few months ago. These results have been revealed in a new survey by male fashion website Stand-Out.net.

It surveyed a number of its customers about what clothes they buy, where from, and what drives them to buy.

Most of those surveyed were men aged between 18 and 44.

The most popular brand being Peter Werth closely followed by Henleys, Ringspun, Gio Goi and many more which can be found at Stand-Out.net.

More than half spend between £25 and £50 on clothes in a single purchase. When asked how much they spent on clothes in the last 12 months, a quarter estimated between £500 and £750.

18 per cent spent up to £1,500, and a very rich 2 per cent spent more than £3,000.

One in five of those polled prefer buying clothes online as they hate trying on new items in shops.

42 per cent of those surveyed would rather buy from small independent online retailers such as Stand-Out.net.

23 per cent prefer the websites of major clothes stores, 16 per cent enjoy shopping on the High Street, and another 16 per cent prefer smaller shops.

Just three per cent buy clothes from catalogues.

Finally, just over 63 per cent of respondents believe if they look great, they will feel great.

Stand-Out.net's Roger Martin said: "This has been a fascinating insight into the clothes shopping habits of modern men. Looking good is very important to many men these days, and this is reflected in the survey results."

The full results, including an index of favourite brands, are available at Stand-out.net/survey.
