Red tie sales rise as guys strive for the Obama look At Barack Obama's inauguration on Tuesday, 20 January 2009 he was pictured wearing a bright red spotted tie upon a crisp white shirt. Since then Thomas Pink has noted a huge increase in the sales of red ties, up by 30% in the last week.

This comes as no surprise seeing as Obama picked the colour most associated with power and leadership. Thomas Pink has 35 different red tie designs to choose from this season, each one ensuring a smart, current and confident look.

“Our red tie sales have peaked in the last week since Obama was pictured in his stylish red tie with white polka dot detail. Our Gresham spot tie has now sold out with our next delivery due in-store at the beginning of February” says Jonathan Heilbron, President & CEO of Thomas Pink.
