The Ford S-MAX has been selected by reformed seminal 1980s band Spandau Ballet as the transport of choice during their 2009 'Reformation Tour'.

The band, which has come together again for the first time in 20 years, will be performing in Ireland and the UK during October. Ford has loaned several S-MAX Titanium models to move them around during the tour.

"Getting the band members and support crew to gigs on time is crucial to the success of the programme, and thanks to Ford we can do this easily and in great style with the S-MAX." said Peter Hillier, Spandau Ballet's Tour Manager.

Lead Singer, Tony Hadley, has been driving an S-MAX Titanium 2.0TDCi Automatic since June when the band first announced the 'Reformation Tour'.

"I wanted a car that was stylish and comfortable for long journeys, and the S-MAX fits the bill perfectly," Hadley said.

Hadley collected his S-MAX Titanium 2.0TDCi Automatic from the Ford Heritage Centre in Dagenham, where he took the chance to relive old motoring memories by looking at and riding in notable Fords from the past, including the Ford Capri and Granada from the late 1970s and the 1987 Sierra RS Cosworth.
