Asprey Homes wins NHBC award Kent based developer Asprey Homes has announced that its Site Manager Ray Ward has been named Regional winner for the best small housebuilders category at the NHBC Pride In The Job Awards.

Ray beat off competition from site managers across the South East to secure a first round place with an NHBC 'Pride in the Job' Quality Award for his work at Asprey Homes’ Keston Reach development in Bromley. Twenty four site managers from across the South East region went on to win a 'Seal of Excellence' for displaying exceptional site management skills and building the best quality new homes. From these, four Regional winners including Ray were selected to go forward to compete for the 'Supreme Awards' in the national 'Pride in the Job' grand final to be held in London in January 2010.

The competition has been intense again this year with 'Pride in the Job' maintaining its reputation as the 'Oscars' of the house-building industry. NHBC launched the campaign 29 years ago to help raise standards in new homes construction and it remains the only award to focus on site management.

In the judges report on the winners the NHBC commented: “Ray's site has an excellent standard of finish and the judges were impressed with the attention to detail shown across all trades. Ray also focussed on protecting work in progress which led to an overall winning site.”

Ray Ward, from Ashford in Kent who has worked for Asprey Homes for over 5 years comments: “With the challenges currently facing the industry, building quality new homes has never been more important. I am therefore delighted to have won this award as it recognises Asprey Homes’ commitment to high standards. However, it is not only my efforts that should be praised – you are only as good as your team and our team continuously strives to provide quality work through dedication and commitment to the job, so my congratulations goes to them as I could not have won the award without them.”

The NHBC Award continues a successful year for Asprey Homes which has seen a 35% increase in the number of properties it has in construction compared to 2008 and any other year since the company was formed in 1995. This year the company will complete 105 properties, and projects in excess of 110 to be built during 2010.

The company has also received outline planning consent in the London Borough of Bromley for approximately 750 properties on its site at Bromley Common, with a Gross Development Value of approaching £200 million, as well as five other developments in Kent and Surrey bringing its land bank to around 1,000 plots.

Following the success of Keston Reach, Ray continues his work at a new Asprey Homes development St Peter’s Green, off Holbrook Lane in Chislehurst. Here the company is developing an attractive terrace of just seven new three bedroom homes.
